Cupcake with apple stained glass

INGREDIENTS 

 

Cake:

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 bags of lemon kissel
  • 1 margarine 250g
  • 2 large apples
  • Butter and breadcrumbs to grease the tin

Decoration:

  • 1 large apple
  • Food colouring (colouring as desired)
  • Water and sugar in a 1:1 ratio

To prepare the recipe you will need:

PREPARATION

  • Melt the margarine and then let it cool.
  • Beat the eggs with the sugar. Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and quinoa). Mix until smooth. Pour in the cooled margarine. 
  • Peel the apples and cut into small cubes.
  • Grease a tin with a thin layer of butter and dust with breadcrumbs to avoid the dough sticking to the tin. 
  • Pour the apples into the tin and pour over the mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, set to thermo and bake for about 50 minutes until dry.

PREPARATION APPLE STAINED GLASS

  • Cut the apple into thin slices (best to use a mandolin for this).
  • Prepare a 1:1 syrup of water and sugar and pour into a flat pot.
  • To achieve the effect of coloured stained glass, food colouring can be added.
  • Cook the apples in the solution for about 10 min.
  • Transfer the apples to a baking tray lined with baking paper and dry them for about 3 hours in an oven preheated to 60 degrees. You can also dry the apples in a mushroom drier.
  • Decorate the finished cake in any way you like with stained-apple shapes (you can stick them onto the cake icing). Sprinkle with icing sugar.
